About Us
Appalachian Energy Future is a program of two non-profit organizations, IN-2-Market (I2M) and U.S. Research Impact Alliance (USRIA), working together to support regional industrial decarbonization through public-private partnerships, with a particular focus on hard-to-abate industry sectors.
We support regional stakeholders through:
Fact-based knowledge and insights to support a realistic and inclusive energy transition
New facilitated connections across industry, academic, public sector and community groups
Access for industry to enabling technologies from universities, startups and other technology providers

Appalachian Energy Future (AEF) was initially launched with a group of leading industrial companies in 2022 to educate the region’s stakeholders on clean energy transition challenges and opportunities.
As the region’s clean energy and industry journey has evolved, so have we. We have expanded beyond our original awareness-building mission to a broader role as a trusted source of energy transition knowledge and connections in support of private and public sector stakeholders.
